At long last, spring is here and so is our Spring Summer 2016 Collection! One of my favorite new bags from the collection is our Mini Saddle Bag, an on-trend style made with bubble mesh in a variety of chic day-to-evening colors. Summer will be here before we know it (hooray!) and this one's going to be my go-to bag for everything from festivals to First Fridays (amazing local art scene in Oakland). Speaking of festivals, I'm heading to Coachella later this week with our Mini Saddle Bag along with a few other metal mesh favorites - so excited! Follow us on Instagram for festival looks from the desert.

Another week, another celebrity spotted with one of our bags! We were so thrilled to see Kesha, queen of all things gold and glittering, carrying our gold Whiting & Davis Charity Heart Minaudiere last Tuesday night on the red carpet of the Rhonda's Kiss benefit in LA, where she also performed. We are especially glad that she picked a bag that gives back - we donate 25% of our proceeds from every Charity Heart Minaudiere we sell, with each of the six colors benefiting a different nonprofit. Because it's a Thursday, we're throwing it back to the Roaring Twenties when we made this Princess Mary bag, which currently hangs in our design room. Can't you imagine it on the arm of a 1920s flapper beauty, fringe swinging every which way? It certainly fits right into my imagination of a glamorous Great Gatsby party scene. The intricate metal mesh on this beautiful antique bag looks so fine and delicate yet here it is, still going strong nearly a century later! And how gorgeous is the chainlink detailing at the bottom? What a stunner!

Who doesn't love a good cappuccino? Especially when you can enjoy one from a sidewalk cafe table, watching the people go by. This is one of my favorite aspects of the classic Parisian experience, and one that I try to find the time to replicate back home in the Bay Area. People watching has always entertained me. The unspoken messages given by the clicking heels of businesswomen and the hooded sweatshirts of techies. When I carry a Whiting & Davis bag, the eye-catching metal mesh is always a conversation starter. Both men and women want to know what it's made of and where I got it. Handbag enthusiasts will excitedly ask if it's by Whiting & Davis. This midnight metallic bucket bag is my current favorite - a great day to evening bag that is versatile yet statement making, a combination that can be hard to come by. To me, this bag gives off the vibes of a long history - a little bit flapper, a little bit Bianca Jagger circa Studio 54 - in a contemporary, on-trend crossbody bucket bag shape. It lends a little luxury to casual jeans and a tee, perhaps like a pair of heels would. And when the bag catches the eyes of those on the sidewalk, I feel good.

Our new Soft Bucket Bag is now online! The bucket bag trend is definitely sticking around, and this new handbag is super versatile - wear it day to evening as a stylish crossbody bag or double up the chain to carry it as a shoulder bag. Between the sparkly metal mesh and the roomy (but not too big) size, it's great for nights out with friends. Thanks to our favorite hashtags, this chic photo was quickly spotted on fashion blogger Daniella Bella's instagram. Perfect for fall, we love how she styled it with a warm coat, skinny jeans and nude heels. What do you think of her look?

With our history dating back to 1876, it is so much fun to go back into the archives. One of our favorite fashion editorials to date is this 1967 photo of Twiggy rocking a metal mesh hood designed by Roberto Rojas. How amazing is this?? Photographed by fashion legend Bert Stern, the iconic Twiggy is a 1960s psychedelic goddess in metal mesh.

Happy Dance! We're all so excited that our gorgeous new site has just gone live! It wasn't smooth, or fast, and one or two of us might have pulled out a few chunks of hair... but it was worth all of the bumps to see it glowing from our computers screens in all its glory right now.  Tell us what you think...
