Scrolling through my Instagram feed the other day, I caught a sparkling glimpse of our gold Vienna Bag, photographed by The Sartorialist at NYFW! No tag, no hashtags, just perfect timing... it's amazing that I even discovered this. It turns out that this model off-duty beauty is none other than stylist Sarah Slutsky, who picked up her Vienna Bag at Anthropologie as a birthday treat for herself. She paired it with winter whites, headed to the Jason Wu show at New York Fashion Week, and the rest is internet history. Love her!

Coffee break. Two words that can give a boost to an otherwise sluggish Monday. My favorite pick-me-up is a lowfat cappuccino - two shots, plenty of foam, never decaf. To give a boost to your Monday outfit, our new Calf Hair Crossbody Bag comes in three bold prints and doubles as a stylish clutch. Pair the clutch with a cappucino and you can conquer the world. Or at least your Monday.

With the holiday party season in full swing, our sparkly metal mesh evening bags and crystal clutches shine their brightest! Styled by Rent the Runway with metallic Essie nail polish and some gorgeous Lulu Frost jewelry, our Rectangle Minaudiere is truly in its element. With accessories like these, all you need is a glass of champagne and you're golden.

Wishing you a beautiful holiday season and a very happy new year!

The new Serpents Minaudiere is our latest take on the Whiting & Davis snake legacy and we absolutely love it, don't you? Turning heads from here to Australia (where this stunning closeup was taken by the stylish crew at Brisbane boutique Calexico Australia), this exotic clutch is seen here with Katie Rowland rings and can be dressed up or down for wherever the evening takes you.

Our new Soft Bucket Bag is now online! The bucket bag trend is definitely sticking around, and this new handbag is super versatile - wear it day to evening as a stylish crossbody bag or double up the chain to carry it as a shoulder bag. Between the sparkly metal mesh and the roomy (but not too big) size, it's great for nights out with friends. Thanks to our favorite hashtags, this chic photo was quickly spotted on fashion blogger Daniella Bella's instagram. Perfect for fall, we love how she styled it with a warm coat, skinny jeans and nude heels. What do you think of her look?

NYFW Street Style

Monday 09.15.14

New York Fashion Week is always a huge source of fashion inspiration, both on and off the runway. I love scrolling The Sartorialist and other street style photographers during fashion week to see how editors and stylists dress for shows and how models achieve that "model off duty" look. During said scrolling, I just stumbled upon this amazing NYFW photo of a stylish someone dressing up an on-trend oversized sports jersey with a black pencil skirt and a vintage Whiting & Davis gold clutch... street style perfection, don't you think?

Island Vibe

Wednesday 07.09.14

Our new Palms Crossbody Bag is a tropical vacation in a bag. The palm tree print gives an island vibe to any outfit, from jeans and a tee to something more formal. Our design director took the bag with her last weekend on a weekend trip to Hawaii and this right here is the look of a bag in its element. If only I could have fit in her suitcase too!

Versatile handbags like this are perfect for traveling light - use it to hold travel essentials like your boarding pass and ID in your carry on before takeoff, wear it as a crossbody bag for some stylish sight seeing, then remove the chain to carry it as a clutch to dinner at the resort.

Some places are magical. One of these places is the Magic Castle. For those not familiar with its glory, the Magic Castle is an old Hollywood mansion that functions as a secret society of sorts for magicians. To enter, one must be a member, and to be a member, one must be a first class magician. You may be thinking that this doesn't sound all that cool, but trust me, it absolutely is. One magical evening, my Whiting & Davis Cage Minaudiere and I were lucky enough to be invited into the castle as guests, and it was truly an awe-inspiring experience. While photos were strictly prohibited, I managed to snap a quick one in this fabulous ladies powder room between intimate magic performances, one of which was an illusion by a charming gentleman who I'm told was Frank Sinatra's personal magician. Only in LA.

With our history dating back to 1876, it is so much fun to go back into the archives. One of our favorite fashion editorials to date is this 1967 photo of Twiggy rocking a metal mesh hood designed by Roberto Rojas. How amazing is this?? Photographed by fashion legend Bert Stern, the iconic Twiggy is a 1960s psychedelic goddess in metal mesh.
